I'm not going to lie, if it wasn't for coming across SkinSciption HydroPlenish at the True Grace PR summer showcase last week, I probably would have never tried it. But boy would I have been missing out!
Just to give you a bit of background, SkinScription is a prescriptive skin care brand created by award-winning aesthetic physician Dr Tracey Bell. The range includes everything from cleansers and toners to vitamin A serums and caffeine-infused cellulite reducers.
HydroPlenish is SkinScription's daily-use, hydrating moisturiser. It's suitable for all skin types, but works particularly well for people who have dehydrated, ageing skin.
The first thing I noticed about this moisturiser before I even tried it was the packaging. It comes in a simple, clear and silver case and has a push pump on top to stop you getting any moisturiser under your nails and/or wasting any of the product. Given that I always use too much moisturiser, I love the idea of controlling the volume of product I use per application. It's a real selling point for me.
As soon as the product comes out on top of the pump, the two things that grabbed my attention were the smell and texture. I honestly couldn't tell you what it smells of, but I can confirm it's fruity and smells absolutely gorgeous! Although the texture is light and silky like a serum, it moisturises my skin really well.
Another important thing to tell you is the ingredients included. HydroPlenish is made with antioxidants such as resveratrol (found in grapes) and sunflower seed oil; protective thyme and blackcurrant oil; and smoothing black tea ferment.
I really do rate this moisturiser, and that is a rare thing for me to say given that I am scared to put a lot of new skin care products on my face for fear of breakout central!
You can buy a 28g pot of SkinScription HydroPlenish Moisturising Cream here for £34. It's definitely on the expensive side, but you'll get to know that I always pay a lot for skin care as I believe you really do get what you pay for when it comes to cleansing and moisturising. And I do believe this product is worth the money.
What do you think of this moisturiser? Would you try it? xxx
