Bomb Cosmetics' Mango Unchained Body Polish

From the moment I heard that Bomb Cosmetics was launching a body polish with the word 'mango' in it, I was sold. After all, it didn't take me very long to make my way through the blackcurrant and lemongrass body polish tubs that once graced my stockpile, so I was well up for trying a new 'flavour'.

Mango Unchained is infused with pure shea butters and grapefruit & orange essential oils. As with all of the body polishes, it comes in a 365ml plastic tub with a simple but colourful design and italic branding.

For me, the best bit about Bomb Cosmetics' body polishes is how lightly grained they are. Never have I found another range of body scrubs that exfoliate and moisturise so well, and every use leaves my skin nourished and fresh.

When you first feel the scrub, it appears to be quite firm and hard to massage into the skin, but as soon as it hits the tiniest drop of water it breaks up very easily.

The one thing that disappointed me was the distinct lack of mango in the polish's scent and ingredients. Other than the creative name, the idea of an exotic fruit is what got me excited about the product in the first place. But I'll never really complain about the use of orange and grapefruit in a shower product, so it really could be worse.

Bomb Cosmetics Haul Part 2: Shower Gel & Scrub

So as you know, I went on an exciting Bomb Cosmetics haul last pay day. Whereas part one had a look at my new bath blaster collection, this part of the haul is all about my new fruitilicious shower scrub and gel. 

For some reason, I am absolutely shower/bath product mad. All I need to see is a new colour that appeals to me or a fruit fragrance that I love and before you can say 'bath bomb' I've already filled my basket with about ten different products. Is anyone else like that?!

THE BLUES BODY POLISH

I've used this four or five times since buying it and I am totally sold. The thing I love about The Blues body polish is that, unlike other harsh scrubs, it removes dry skin but also moisturises. It makes my skin feel so smooth and it has a really invigorating scent too (lemongrass and bergamot essential oils).

Of course, like many Bomb Cosmetics products, this scrub is made with shea butter, which gives it a lovely nourishing function. I thought the Blackcurrant Body Polish would be my favourite scrub from this brand, but this one is just as good if not better. It also lasts a hell of a long time, which is always good and goes towards justifying the £7.99 price tag.

 BLACKBERRY SOUR SCOOPABLE SHOWER GEL

 If I'm honest, I haven't managed to crack this one open yet as I'm still making my way through the ever-lasting Sugar Crush shower gel from Soap & Glory and also my Raspberry Rainbow scoopable shower gel. But I had to get this as I really love the raspberry scoopable gel - it has a unique texture like jelly and my skin absorbs it really easily and feels very clean after.

The smell is one of the best things about the scoopable shower gels. This one has a strong blackberry scent that is also mixed in with bergamot and black pepper essential oils. So in a way it is a tad bittersweet and more energising than the raspberry one. This one also costs £7.99,  but again will last an age.

Once I give this one a go, I'll pop up a tweet about it. I've also got the Blackberry Sour Whoopie Blaster as you would have seen in my last post - so I'm excited to watch it fizz away in the bath and write a Once Upon A Bathtime post on it.

Once Upon A Bathtime: Bomb Cosmetics' Cranberry & Lime Blaster

 

Now that Spring is finally (sort of) showing its face, all I want to do is surround myself with fresh fragrances. I've got my Neom Organics Contentment Reed Diffuser firmly placed on my bedside table, I've been spritzing myself silly with Marc Jacobs' Daisy, and now I've found the perfect bathtime treat - Bomb Cosmetics' Cranberry & Lime Bath Blaster. 

If we look at the aesthetic of the bath blaster first, it's a bit psychedelic. I'd say it takes me right back, but I wasn't born then! But what it does remind me of is those sweets that have far too many colours and additives in it. And, let's be honest, who can complain about that! 

Dropping the blaster into warm water is like watching a 70s colour explosion blow up in the bath. It makes the water so bright and vibrant, and I love that there's no mistaking it for anything other than a cranberry and lime product because of the green and pink colours. Something else I liked was that I could instantly see the fresh cranberry seeds in the water, which made me feel like I was about to bathe in a liquidised strawberry! 

But, for me, it's not all about the way a product looks in and out of the water; I only ever repurchase a bath bomb if it smells good too (hence my love of Lush's Karma bubble bar), and the cranberry and lime scent hit me almost instantly. It was fresh and fruity, but also sharp and full of zest. 

All things considered, I really love how true to its name this bath blaster was. Not only did its aesthetic reflect the fruity fragrance, but the scent was strong enough to make it 'believable'. This is definitely a great product for fruity fragrance lovers like me, but just make sure you rinse the bath out afterwards to avoid a sea of seeds. And speaking from experience, the same applies for your hair!

Bomb Cosmetics Haul Part 1: Bath Blasters

If you are thinking 'why on earth has she taken a picture of four doughnuts', then I wouldn't blame you.  But rest assured, as much as these four beautiful goodies look like ring-shaped cakes, they are bath blasters from one of my favourite bath/body retailers - Bomb Cosmetics.

I'm like a kid in a candy shop with bath bombs - every single colour, shape and smell appeals to me. So when I saw the Spring products on Bomb Cosmetics' website, I went a little bit crazy. Not to mention the more than half decent price tags. Who wouldn't indulge?!

Appleberry Butter Burst Bath Blaster (£2.29)

The first product I added to my shopping bag was the Appleberry Butter Burst Blaster. I was drawn firstly to the green, blue and purple colours, and secondly to the fruity fragrance.The Appleberry blaster has a blackberry scent and is infused with cocoa butter to moisturise, and pure grapefruit and black pepper oils to invigorate. The green part of the blaster smells of apple and has notes of caramel and vanilla to add an element of sweetness.

Pink Rhubarb Princess Whoopie Blaster (£2.99)

I'm so in love with the creative design of this 'whoopie' blaster, and that's definitely why I bought it. The Pink Rhubarb Pricess blaster has been inspired by the classic English rhubarb and blackberry crumble. It has been made with pure cocoa and shea butters, and is also infused with pure cedarwood and geranium oil.

Blackberry Sour Whoopie Blaster (£2.99)

Again I love the design of this one - it's basically the same as the Pink Rhubarb Princess blaster but has a stronger blackberry fragrance. Blackberry Sour is made with softening cocoa and shea butters, and is also infused with pure bergamot and chamomile oils.

Cranberry and Lime Blaster (£2.29)

This is a perfect bath blaster for Spring - it has such a fresh sweet but sharp fragrance and I love that it has fresh cranberry seeds in it. It's made with energising pure lime and marjoram oils and is supported by notes of raspberry, plum, peach, apple and white flowers.

Once Upon A Bathtime: Bomb Cosmetics' Harajuku Girl Bath Creamer

I've really missed doing my Once Upon A Bathtime posts, but life has been hectic at the moment and I've been sticking to quick-fix showers. Well, until today when I unwrapped this little beauty!

Bomb Cosmetics' Harajuku Girl Bath Creamer has been waiting patiently in my stash of exciting bath products for quite some time now, so it was only fair I let it fizz away. 

Harajuku Girl is a tiny, beautiful ball of pink joy, which is infused with yummy moisturising shea fruit butters and ginger essential oil. Its top notes include orange, pineapple, jasmin, ylang-ylang and gardenia. 

As it dropped into the water, its pink coat fizzed away slowly, revealing a white, creamy centre. Like the First Love Bath Mallow, I really would have loved this product to turn the water pink; however, as this is a bath creamer, I realise its main function is to moisturise and not blow up the bath with bright colours.

Looking at the finished product, the water had a creamy, opaque appearance, which made it a bit like bathing in still lemonade! The only thing that struck me was that I wasn't blown away with the smell of the bath once I was in it - I loved using the brand's Lavender Musk bath blaster because it looked and smelled gorgeous, so I think I'll stick to blasters in the future.

Although I do think this petite creamer is a total steal at little over £2 and has great ingredients for moisturising the skin, I was a bit underwhelmed by this product and I need great smells and visuals as a prerequesite for investing in bath bombs twice. 

But do give it a try if you like a more soft and subtle bathing experience!

Once Upon A Bathtime: Bomb Cosmetics' First Love Bath Mallow

There's no doubt about it - it is FREEZING! All I can think about to keep me warm is a relaxing hot soak in the tub, so there was no better time than monday night to try out Bomb Cosmetics' First Love Bath Mallow - one of the gorgeous bath and body goodies from my recent Bomb Cosmetics Haul (see post here).

I kind of didn't want to touch it in case I broke it!

This sweet, soft bath mallow is the cutest thing in the world. Made in the design of a cupcake, it looks good enough to eat and feels as soft as buttercream. By looking at it and feeling its texture, I got the feeling it would be a rich, slow-melting product, which is exactly what it has been described as. It gets 10/10 in terms of product aesthetics!

The product packaging advises you to run a warm bath and drop this in while the tub is filling up, so I did exactly that and took a quick pic before the big drop (above).

Admittedly, at first, I was a bit disappointed - I expected to see a bath full of candy pink and sky blue waves, but it was white instead. Unfortunately, the visual effect of the mallow hitting the water was not quite what I was expecting, but I think this sort of product is more about the moisturising effects it has on the skin, and it looked pretty dreamy to me. Maybe the problem is that I am so used to 'ballistics' and so was looking for a bigger bang, if you see what I mean?

Although I was confused initially, once I actually got into the bath it was so creamy and gorgeous. It slowly melted away for a long time, which I liked, and its scent was subtle and relaxing.

So, overall, for a bath product of this size, I was impressed with the results and would like to try the bath mallows again. It wouldn't be a 'must have' repurchase, but I think it's great for a special treat after a long, cold day with dehydrated skin!

Bomb Cosmetics Haul (#obsessed)

If i'm honest, I only thought Lush could offer creative bath and body products, but I was wrong. Very wrong. At last year's Vitality Show, I stumbled upon what can only be described as a 'sea' of bath bombs and ballistics. I officially met a match for my bathtime brand favourite, and her name was Bomb Cosmetics.

I did what any excited beauty addict would do, and went on a MASSIVE haul. It would be wrong not to share my new prized possessions with you, so here they are in all their fun and fragrant glory.

As you can see, I got a range of products, including the Raspberry Rainbow Scoopable Shower Gel (365ml), Blackcurrant Body Polish (365ml), Emerald Ocean Painted Love Candle, First Love Bath Mallow, Lavender Musk Blaster (160g), Harajuku Girl Bath Creamer (30g) and Lavender Musk Blaster (160g).

Seeing them all in a line makes me happy!

I'll start with the Raspberry Rainbow Scoopable Gel, which costs £7.99.

The packaging is so cute and fun, although I must admit it wasn't the first thing that attracted me to it - that was the raspberry. I have a real love for the smell and taste of raspberry so knew I had to give this one a go. I don't think the tub is 100% waterproof, as would be expected, but it does hold up pretty well if it gets wet.

The gel is infused with 'moisturising palmarosa and bergamot oils'. Bergamot is a popular ingredient for bath and body products at the moment, but you can only smell raspberry so you would never know it was there.

It looks, smells and feels like strawberry jelly, but note the product warning not to give it to children under 3. It's a thick consistency but represents the 'scoopable' part well. It smells gorgeous and makes me feel like a kid in a sweet shop! One thing was I had to use quite a lot as it dissolved quickly on the skin, so not as moisturising as I would have liked but all in all I love this product.

Next is the Blackcurrant Body Polish, which also costs £7.99.

I have to say even though I love the body scrub, I think I do prefer the shower gel. The scrub smells like purple fruit polos, which I love, but I can't deny I was disappointed when the product wasn't purple inside, but white instead. Still it smells gorgeous and there's a lot there for your money.

One thing I will say with this product is that it does need a bit of warming up in the hands first before rubbing onto the skin, as it is quite coarse and thick. Once it's warmed up, it's good to go, but it is a down point.

The third thing on my list is the Emerald Ocean Painted Love Candle, which costs £7.99 (a running theme it seems!).

In terms of design and packaging, it isn't particularly original, but I am in a real candle phase at the moment and love anything ocean-related. The candle is made with revitalising pure clary sage and lemongrass and has a burn time of up to 50 hours, which is pretty good for a candle of this size. I am definitely excited to use this!

Next is the first bath product I bought - First Love Bath Mallow (£2.09). The way this has been created is so delicate and pretty - i want to eat it, which I think is a good thing. One thing I will say that it is small - so I hope it will be powerful when I use it in the tub. Very soft texture and I'm really looking forward to bathing in the shea and cocoa butters that the product will release.

Then there's the Lavender Musk Blaster, which costs £2.29. I think in general this sort of bath bomb is more up my street - smells divine and it's a lot bigger than the melts and creamers. Having said that, this will dissolve a lot quicker than the creamer, so they will probably balance each other out. I love the relaxing effect lavender has after a long day at work, so can't wait to watch this one fizz like mad.

Finally we have the two bath creamers - Big in Japan (£2.09) and Harajuku Girl (£2.09). Both a LOT smaller than I expected, especially Harajuku Girl; however, what was lacking in size was made up in colour and fragrance. I was really disappointed with the koi carp creamer - it looked so vivid online and rather dull in the flesh. The design is very cute and am intrigued to see how it will work. Same goes for Harajuku Girl.
